Fine dining in a beautiful brasserie, surrounded by colourful  paintings by famous Cobra artists.

In the summer of 2015, “Brasserie Ambassade” opened its doors in the Ambassade Hotel. The Brasserie and the annex Library Bar were renovated after a design by Cruz y Ortiz Arquitectos from Seville.

Since it’s opening in August 2015 Brasserie Ambassade has received laudatory praise from critics and visitors alike. Here you can enjoy a classic French Cuisine prepared by Executive Chef Tommy van de Coolwijk and his team. Surrounded by the colourful paintings from the Cobra movement the Brasserie also boasts a beautiful view on Herengracht.

Brasserie Ambassade solely uses specially selected, high-quality ingredients by carefully chosen suppliers with an emphasis on fresh, seasonal and locally produced, artisanal products.


Brasserie Ambassade serves dinner from 18:00 – 22:00 (Sun – Wed) and 18:00 – 22:30 (Thu – Sat).

Lunch is served between 12:00 -15:00 (Mon – Sun).

A fabulous place to dine

I had booked a table well in advance to celebrate my wife’s 50th birthday and arrived to be seated overlooking the canal. The staff were all exceptional and all congratulated my wife on her birthday which was a lovely touch. We ordered the chefs surprise meal and had 3 sumptuous courses of simply exquisite food perfectly cooked and presented. This really is a wonderful place to have dinner with delightful staff and I wholeheartedly recommend a visit when you are in Amsterdam

A little Gem!

Located on the side of a beautiful canal, this restaurant is a must-do if you are visiting Amsterdam. We had a glass of Burgundy Cremant to start which was very good and decided on the Chef’s Surprise Menu @ €37 for three courses. It changes every day & you need only choose ‘fish, meat or vegetarian’ We chose the meat menu and ordered a bottle of 2013 Crozes Hermitage (Rhône Syrah) at €34 which turned out to be one of the best bottles of European Shiraz I’ve tasted – yummy!

The food, prepared by Eric Zonjee? who is inspired by Paul Becuse, was fantastic, perfectly balanced and a delight! The service was impeccable and unobtrusive and the ambiance was relaxed and comfortable.
