Vacancy Head Chef

Objective

As a head chef at Restaurant Ambassade, you contribute to the Ambassade Group by providing our guests with a high-quality gastronomic experience. You are responsible for creating our dishes from the classic French cuisine, served with a modern twist. With your expertise and passion for French cuisine, you inspire the kitchen team and contribute to their professional development. Together with the F&B team, you ensure that our guests return time and again for our signature dishes and an unforgettable culinary experience.

Daily tasks
- Menu planning and development: Creating and adapting menus based on seasonal ingredients, trends, and guest preferences.
- Kitchen management: Leading and motivating the kitchen team, including schedule planning, training, and staff development.
- Hygiene and safety: Maintaining strict hygiene and safety standards in the kitchen according to regulations.

Projects
- Menu development: You conceptualize and develop new dishes and menus that align with the restaurant’s concept and culinary vision.
- Sustainability and Green Globe standards: You are involved in ensuring sustainable practices in the kitchen, such as minimizing food waste, using local and seasonal ingredients, and implementing energy-saving measures.
- Creative projects: You initiate and lead creative projects within the kitchen, such as special theme menus, tastings, seasonal menus, or collaborations with local suppliers or other chefs.
- Training and development: You are involved in training and developing kitchen staff, ensuring they are up-to-date with the latest culinary trends, techniques, and standards.

Teamwork and collaboration
- Effectively communicate and collaborate with the F&B service team and management to ensure quality.

Qualifications

A minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership position within the gastronomic sector, preferably in a high-end restaurant or hotel.
Experience in menu development, kitchen management, and team leadership.
Experience in maintaining high quality standards and sustainable kitchen practices.

Leadership: The ability to inspire, motivate, and guide others in their personal development.
Proactivity: Taking initiative to solve problems, suggest improvements, and inspire the team to take action.
Communication: Excellent communication skills.
Problem-solving ability: Ability to respond quickly and effectively to operational challenges and unexpected situations.
Passion: Love for French cuisine and gastronomy, and the ability to convey this passion to the team and guests.

Working conditions

The position requires flexibility in working days and hours. This may include weekends and holidays, depending on operational needs.
While the Head Chef will primarily spend time on the floor and in contact with the team, the position will also include administrative tasks performed in an office environment.
