Vacancy: Assistant Manager Technical Service

Purpose of the position

As an assistant manager in our Technical Services team, you’ll assist guests and colleagues with any technical support they require. You’ll also work with the team to ensure ongoing maintenance of our systems, buildings, and rooms. Furthermore, you’ll work with the Technical Services team to maintain safety in and around the hotel, including working conditions. As an assistant manager, you’ll lead your colleagues in the Technical Services team and collaborate with the Technical Services Manager on daily and periodic planning. You’ll also serve as a point of contact for colleagues in other departments and participate in overarching meetings when requested.

Daily activities

  • Participate in the daily morning meeting: the day starts with the TD department communicating with other departments.
  • Perform routine maintenance: responsible for daily/periodic maintenance follow-up.
  • Inspecting hotel facilities to identify maintenance issues: Responsible for daily/periodic checking of hotel systems and facilities.
  • Responding to requests from colleagues and guests: responding to technical issues.
  • Assisting with maintenance projects and renovations: Together with the team, you are responsible for supporting maintenance projects at the hotel.
  • Collaborate with operational departments to maintain guest satisfaction and hotel operations at a high quality: by communicating positively with colleagues, guests’ needs are met as much as possible.

Teamwork and collaboration

In the role of Assistant Manager Technical Service, you will work in a team with several colleagues, each with a specific specialty and a focused set of tasks. As Assistant Manager Technical Service, you will be (jointly) responsible, together with the manager, for the daily management of your colleagues, but you will also work largely independently. From within the department, you will be in frequent daily contact with colleagues from other operational departments. Communication between you will take place in a respectful manner. In addition to verbal, e-mail and telephone contact, various deficiencies are reported in the Goticking software system.

Qualifications and skills

  • Experience with technical work is essential.
  • Experience working in a team is essential.
  • Experience managing multiple colleagues on a daily basis is a plus.
  • Fluency in Dutch or English is required.
  • Experience working in a hotel is a plus.
  • Ability to handle stress effectively in unexpected situations.
  • Good planning, prioritization, and multitasking skills.
  • Attention to detail, cleanliness, and hygiene are essential.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours (including weekends).

  • The position requires flexibility in working days and hours, including weekends and holidays, depending on the needs of the operation.
  • Be prepared for physical work that involves standing, moving, and walking around for a full 7.5 hour shift.
