Your private guide Eduard
After Eduard Janssen completed an MSc in Real Estate at Kingston University in London, he worked with international real estate companies. Eduard Janssen combines his real estate expertise and strong interest in urban development, history, art and culture into a unique form of hospitality. Besides this he has been living in the seventeeth-century canal ring area of Amsterdam for more than 20 years. Eduard believes that our view of history shapes the way we view the present. His personal promise to all his clients is to provide reliable, friendly and expert service.

Private Art & Books tour – Inside the Ambassade Hotel (max. 1 hour)

After a brief introduction to the book collection of the Ambassade Hotel in the hotel’s Library Bar, our private guide, Eduard Janssen, will explore with you the extensive inhouse CoBrA art collection. During the tour, Eduard Janssen will give a clear overview and cast new light on the history of the influential CoBrA movement and (affiliated) artists.
Restaurant Ambassade / Library Bar
The Art & Books tour can be followed (or preceded) by a delicious breakfast, lunch or dinner in Restaurant Ambassade, or with drinks and bites in our Library Bar. Please ask our staff.

After a brief introduction to the art and book collection of the Ambassade Hotel in the hotel’s Library Bar, Eduard Janssen will explore the centre of Amsterdam with you. This tour includes Dam Square, the Amsterdam Stock Exchange, the Red Light district, the Old Church, the Dutch East India Company, the University of Amsterdam and places where Rembrandt and other luminaries lived and worked.

After a brief introduction to the art and book collection of the Ambassade Hotel in the hotel’s Library Bar, Eduard Janssen will explore the centre of Amsterdam with you. This tour includes Dam Square, the Amsterdam Stock Exchange, the Red Light district, the Old Church, the Dutch East India Company, the University of Amsterdam and places where Rembrandt and other luminaries lived and worked. Furthermore, Eduard will show you around the Jewish Cultural Quarter and the Flower Market.
Private Bike Tour (3,5 hours)

For your own safety, biking experience is essential and in case of bad weather conditions this tour may be cancelled
After a brief introduction to the art and book collection of the Ambassade Hotel in the hotel’s Library Bar, Eduard Janssen will explore a variety of interesting city districts with you, away from the most popular tourist routes. This tour includes the Jordaan District, the Harbour District, the Jewish Cultural Quarter and the Spaarndammer District, which is famous for its typical Amsterdam School architecture.

1st hour: €95 | 2nd hour: €95 | every additional hour: €75 per hour
If you prefer a cultural experience tailored to your specific needs and interests (e.g. museum visits, cities outside Amsterdam), please ask our staff for more information. For example, Eduard Janssen can explore with you the seventeenth-century canal ring and show you highlights of the iconic Rijksmuseum, which houses beautiful works of art from Dutch and European history.
