Practical information

Accessibility and parking

The Ambassade Hotel has a garage with limited parking space upon availability, located about 150 meters away, reservations are required. It is also possible to park your car along the canal. Please be aware that the centre of Amsterdam has paid parking daily, from 9.00 hrs – 0.00 hrs, on Sundays from 12.00 hrs – 00.00 hrs. It is only possible to pay with maestro or creditcard (unfortunately not cash). Costs are 7,76 euro per hour.

Alternatively, it is possible to park at the public parking ‘Q-park Europarking’, on Marnixstraat 250. The hotel reception will be pleased to give you directions. This garage is located within about 7-8 minutes walking distance of the Ambassade Hotel.
Since we are centrally located, we are also very easy to reach by public transportation. For example, from Central Station you can take tram (streetcar) 12, 2, 14 or 4, which will take you about 12 minutes. You can get off at the stops Koningsplein or Rokin.

To reach the hotel from the airport a taxi is easiest; the taxi ride takes about 25 minutes.
For more comfort, the Ambassade Hotel can arrange a private chauffeur who will assist you with your luggage. The chauffeur will meet you in the arrival hall after the baggage claim, behind the sliding doors, holding a sign with your name on it. If you wish us to make arrangements, we would appreciate to receive your flight details, scheduled arrival time and a mobile telephone number so the driver can reach you if necessary. Rates for one or two persons are from 120 euros, a minivan for even more comfort or 3 to 8 persons costs 150 euros; cancellations are accepted until 24 hours in advance.

Alternatively, trains go to Amsterdam Central Station every 15 minutes (5,50 euro per person). From the station you can take a taxi (approx. 17,50 euro) or a streetcar (3,20 euro per person, cash not accepted, only bankcard, Visa or Master card). Please take streetcar-line 2, 11 or 12. Get off at the third stop called “Spui”. Walk ten meters direction “Spui-square” and turn right to go into the alley between 2 café’s: “Café Hoppe” and “Café Zwart”. Cross the canal called Singel and walk to the 2nd canal, Herengracht, where you turn right before the bridge. The hotel is located 50 meters further on the right-hand side, at number 341.
