I did not reserve my room with breakfast included. Can I still have breakfast?
Yes of course! Feel free to come to reception, we will reserve a table in the breakfast restaurant for you including our unlimited breakfast buffet. More information: www.ambassade-hotel.nl/breakfast
At what times can I have breakfast, lunch and dinner?
Breakfast is served from 07.00 – 11.00 (also for non hotel guests!), lunch from 12.00 – 17.00 and dinner from 17.45 – 22.00.

What is the check-out time? Can I get a late check-out?
The regular check-out time is 12:00 p.m.
However, please feel free to contact the reception by dialing 99 to discuss all available options, for example a late checkout (upon availability).

Can I rent a bike at the Ambassade Hotel?
Absolutely! Discover Amsterdam like a local.
At the Ambassade Hotel you can rent our beautiful Ambassade City-Bicycles for an entire day.

Are the artworks in Ambassade Hotel for sale?
The 800 artworks in our private CoBrA art-collection are not for sale. However, please ask us about the Art Collection folder which includes additional information and a free (self-guided) tour along the public areas of the hotel.
At our subsidiary Samsara Books & Art, (around the corner of the hotel) you will find a large number of beautiful works by CoBrA artist Theo Wolvecamp for sale. Also visit the shop / gallery for more artworks, unique gifts and meaningful books. Also, feel free to visit the Ambassade Art Gallery, just a few doors down on the Herengracht. Those artworks are all for sale as well.
What’s the story behind the Library Bar?
In the Library Bar you will find a unique collection of more than 5000 signed – first edition – books by authors who have all stayed at the Ambassade Hotel.
The Ambassade Hotel has traditionally maintained close links with publishers in Amsterdam and the surrounding areas. Many of these publishing houses, as well as some of Amsterdam’s best-known bookshops and authors’ cafés, are located within walking distance of the Ambassade Hotel.

Which art movement is on display at the Ambassade Hotel?
The artworks in the Ambassade Hotel are mainly from the CoBrA movement (20th century, Europe).
At the time of writing the collection contains more than 800 works of art. CoBrA stands for Copenhagen, Brussels, Amsterdam.
Seized by the expression, the management of the Ambassade Hotel started with the collection of Cobra art in late 2001.The goal is to allow the collection to grow into a comprehensive and complete overview of Cobra; a unique, post-war art movement with members throughout Europe, including Asger Jorn, Pierre Alechinsky and Karel Appel.
In addition, the Ambassade Hotel owns some late 19th-century works by leading figures from the Amsterdam Impressionists movement: Isaac Israëls and George Hendrik Breitner.

How did the art collection at the Ambassade Hotel start?
The owner fell in love with CoBrA-art in 1988. This has resulted in a contemporary private collection of over 800 artworks, to be seen in all rooms & public areas of the hotel. Ask us about the Art folder with a self-guided walking tour through the hotel!
