Superb in Every Respect

This is a boutique hotel that excels in every dimension. The location is central but quiet, on a beautiful canal street with restaurants, shopping, museums nearby. We walked everywhere. The physical plant is superb – bedding, bath fixtures, amenities. There is an elevator (not true for every AMS hotel converted from townhouses). The bar has a large and unique collection of books signed by the authors who have stayed at the hotel. The breakfast buffet is excellent…

Excellent in every way

A lovely hotel with interesting art and library in an attractive position facing a quiet canal, yet very convenient. Rooms are comfortable & very well appointed. Breakfast selection very full, fresh and appetising. The restaurant is good for dinner too. All staff are friendly, helpful and efficient. Unusually we found no faults at all. It is not cheap, but worth the cost. We thoroughly recommend the hotel.

Artful and full of Art

The Ambassade hotel is full of Art (mostly of the famous Dutch Cobra group, including one Karel Appel) and quite Artfully run. The rooms are slightly traditional but very colorful, unique and comfortable. The staff is extremely nice. The library bar is also unique with books donated by their authors when they visited. And again full of lovely painting. Nice to have Nespresso and Bulgari toiletries in the room. The three course dinner for 45 Euros including a glass of bubbles in the Ambassade Brasserie is worth every eurocent….

A Lovely Capstone to Our European Vacation

After 3 weeks in Europe and at the conclusion of a cruise, we wanted just one more night in Amsterdam and decided to treat ourselves to a special place. The Ambassade hit all the right notes. The location was perfect, our room spacious and comfortable, the Library Bar cozy and quiet, and the dining room/Brasserie amazing. All the staff were accommodating, friendly and professional. We couldn’t have asked for a lovelier conclusion to our vacation.
